Re: In the words of Crocodile DundeeI was wondering how you were going to use 'that's not a knife' in the retro bike forum.
Looks like you could still ride than thing if the front wheel came off.
Re: In the words of Crocodile DundeeHe gets around. I saw the same bloke down Beach Road last Sunday. He had an aero helmet on, a disc in the back, Zipp 808 in the front, and purple shoes, but I'm pretty sure it was the same bloke. He was doing 32 kmh, downhill, and about 40 cadence. I saw him nearly fall off, looking at his reflection in the shop windows. I wanted to see how he went accelerating away from the lights, but I couldn't hang around that long.
Seriously though, what is the origin of that photo? He obviously has serious intent. I wonder if it is the Australian Ariel brand? The bike has the American astabula type cranks. He wouldnt have to worry about toeclip overlap. He has to worry about Chainwheel overlap! Warren

I think I read somewhere it was set up like that to set a motorpace record, but that's all I can remember, and I could be dreamin'

Re: In the words of Crocodile DundeeChasing behind a railway locomotive possibly?
Did they do that in Oz? Cheers Richard
Re: In the words of Crocodile DundeeTry this for a story... This bloke was determined to be a champion hill climber with the belief that low cadence, a neat hair style and steely gaze were the secrets to defying the pull of gravity.
Thunder-thighs McGee was the odd name his sponsor Ariel coined for him. F****W** Norm to those that new him better. True.
