Hi I was just after some recommendations regarding a box/case to transport a bike as the wife will be travelling to do triathlons and I may also be doing some cycle legs in tris, transport will be by plane and we all know how they handle luggage
Not sure whether hard case or soft case would be required but assume hard would be better, my other possible issue is my bike is a TCR advanced SL0 so it has an integrated seat post so this length has to be considered and many of the Cases/Bags I have seen require removal of the bikes seat post.
any recommendations or experience would be appreciated

I just received a fresh shipment of cases if you are interested.
I have two types, the EVA model based on the origional created by Polaris. I have used these cases personally for many users, travelling all over the world and I am pleased to say I've never had so much as a scratch on my bike using one of these. I'd call EVA a "Semi-Rigid" material. Its hard but has some give in it.
The stock just received has some little updates on it, every time we get a shipment I get some ammendments made to the design based on what we've learnt or if we've had a case damaged we try to work out how that could have been avoided.
The 2nd type is a new product made from ABS (hard) plastic. I havn't used one of these personally but they are very similar to another well known brand. These are heavier than the EVA case. I havn't put them on the scales yet.

A soft case is going to be lighter, some of the new ones don't require the handle bars to be removed (those ones arn't much lighter than the EVA case) but in terms of safety for your bike I feel the EVA or ABS cases are definitely going to protect your bike a lot more than a soft case. With practice you can pack your bikes into these cases in under 10 minutes.

These are a softbox option which I found quite interesting and a great option if you tend towards a softbag/softbox option>
