Will be interesting technology to watch.
I reckon they can do it, but not for the price they are suggesting. Longevity will be interesting as well.

Doesn't solve one of the key issues imho, and that is wet weather braking.cobba wrote:Sram Hydraulic Brakes (with a very large rotor)

Agree with the thrust of the article.

I remember forum members strongly disagreeing with me because I was concerned about some new bikes being specified with a 140 disc on the front. They probably thought I was stoopid too . I'll keep my 185 on the road/CX bike for now.MichaelB wrote:And people think I'm stoopid for running a 180mm front disc.

Let alone being stoopid for even trying discs on a road bikeNobody wrote:I remember forum members strongly disagreeing with me because I was concerned about some new bikes being specified with a 140 disc on the front. Hi Pete, cooperplace wrote:Hi Michael,
I'm running a 185 and if a 200 (or 203?) would fit, I'd use it right away. The braking with the 185 is IMHO just OK, and this morning I rode my wife's bike with Ultegra front calipers, and my first impression was how weak the brakes felt.
Getting the cable-operated BB7 to clear the disc and still have minimal free-play in the lever is an ongoing problem. like you I'm looking forward to a combo gear shifter/hydraulic brake lever.
cheers
Peter

The HY/RD is interesting, but fail to see how that is better than the Parabox from the same company.jasonc wrote:Mechanical brakes go dual-piston with Spyre

I didn't comment, as I didn't have an opinion. I think people are getting sick of waiting for "the complete package"MichaelB wrote:The HY/RD is interesting, but fail to see how that is better than the Parabox from the same company.jasonc wrote:Mechanical brakes go dual-piston with Spyre
