Tubeless MTB slicks

hey guys

looking at picking up a singlespeed MTB for winter commuting. currently it runs tubeless 29 x 1.95" tyres.

am i able to convert this to tubeless slicks at all? i've done a bit of googling but haven't found what i expected to - a lot of suggestions of using 700 road tyres, however i'd (ideally) like to keep running tubeless if i can to avoid the issue of punctures!

any help would be appreciated!

I have a Maxxis Hookworm 2.5 mounted tubeless on the rear of my MTB which I use as a wet road trainer / gravel road trainer. Contrary to the posed photo below, I don't bash it around and run 80psi which is close to max rec. inflation so it has little opportunity to bulge but the bead on this non folding tyre appears to seal tight very nicely after 400+ km of regular riding......... It's a heavy tyre but on a normal MTB like my XTC 2, a bit more weight on an already heavy -ish bike makes little difference to me............ and it grips in the wet and on hard pack gravel roads like it's on rails.......

Ps. I have a Michelin Run'R 1.4 slick with tube mounted on the front.

I have nearly 9000km on a set of Big Apples. I have only had the rear tyre off once for "repairs".

I have read of Big Apples being used tubeless. They mounted OK but it took a while for the side walls to seal up.

Using normal tyres (non Lust) and rims (using ghetto or rim strips) it can be a bit of a lottery if they will work tubeless.

What about road tubeless? That's if you want narrow road tyres. The widest would be the Hutchison Intensive which is reportedly a narrow 700x25. I haven't tried any on my 29er but have been running the fusions on my road bike and have been happy with them.
