Hello Imaginary Friends
I'll be holidaying at Avoca Beach in the week after Xmas.
Does anybody MTB in this area, and if so, can you recommend any places to ride in the area?
By way of reference, I ride Manly Dam semi-regularly, and really enjoy it.
Thanks
James

MTB Rides Near Avoca?

My bike blog. Long on rumination, rambling and opinion. Why let facts ruin everything?

G'day James
There are few single tracks in the Brisbane Water area as most of the suitable land is National Park. However there are many seldom used fire trails which are quite good. The nearest trails to Avoca are in the Bouddi NP starting near the Maitland Bay car park. The Kincumber Mountain Reserve (enter at the end of the road at Kincumber High School). There are several more much longer trails in the Brisbane Water NP. Enter from Woy Woy - Kariong road at the speed camera or at Staples Lookout. Also trails on the west side of the Umina -Patonga Road near the Warrah Trig Road. Also from Pearl Beach to the Patonga Road (long climb up but great return trip, check out the lookout for a breather). The National Parks Office in Gosford has free brochures on the trails in the Bouddi NP and in the Brisbane Water NP. PM me with a phone number for more details.
Best Regards,
L'iota
