Lots of good riding around Kiama.
Taking the coastal cycleway north will get you to Shellharbour and the Lake or all the way to Bulli if you like, otherwise heading west out of town towards Jamberoo has you on some rural roads with a few longer hills on the way to Albion Park or Minnamurra Rain Forest.
Then there's Saddleback Mountain if you want a long steep hill.

Yes, there are lots of hills! Some of the best near Sydney, if you like that sort of thing.
You can ride the freeway - it has a breakdown lane. Other options:
- head up to Minamurra; there is a bike path there
- train to Dapto and ride out to the west; beautiful (and a bit hilly)
- train to Berry and ride to Nowra or to Coolangatta
7 Mile is not a good option in my view. Although it's flat, the road is narrow and the cars really move along there.

Kiama has its own Bicycle User Group, and has its own website at http://www.kiamabug.org.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They have a "where to ride" section on their website.

post kiama trip...
kiama ->jamberoo ->albion park and back to kiama loop. great 45k ride, 600m climbing, safe roads
kiama -> saddleback mountain - 7km up and back 700m climbing, average 14km/h. highest grade about 24% for the last 200m, which did involve a few stops . coming down that steep section was scary at 15km/h ! i stopped to taker a photo and even then nearly went over the bars.
