It Truely was a nice bike. I really feel for you! I would say someone saw you riding it and followed you home to see where it was kept. For it to go in a 3/4 hour period unless it was in plain sight is a little suss to me, unless it was a local teenager, are there any suspect people in your street.
It is probably in a container with a lot of other bikes heading OS, Or it is stripped and parts on Ebay. I am all ways looking out for people or cars that I see more than once. If people ask me where I live when I am on the bike, I tell them, "the Tweed" and leave it at that.
I had a classic car stolen from me when I was a young man, and my brother had a dirt bike stolen and both times people followed us home, at the time we were still green and not aware of what was happening, it was only after the fact we realised what had gone on.
The amount of money changing hands for these bikes now professional theives have started taking notice! Trolling forums is a great place to find easy targets. I know I may seem a little paranoid about this but once it happens to you you think about it in a whole different way! I think we need to be a little more secretive about our treasures and make it a little harder for these scumbags to get them.
One of the good things about the forum is you have a lot of eyes keeping a lookout for you!

not an organised crime - an opportunistic one.
i'm going to ask around the local skate park and b-ball/tennis courts again during the week, but really, i'm over it. the chances of recovery are slim to none, and i can't burn myself out looking for it.
i've rationalised it by working out what it actually cost me, and i'm out of pocket about one basic joe cosgrove paintjob. good luck to them.
on a lighter note, we should get together for another ride after christmas, mate. when does the dragon season finish?
