Giant TCR Advanced Zero - 2012/2013 differences ?
Postby PaulMoran » Mon Oct 08, 2012 9:37 am
apart from the new livery - is there any difference that anyone knows about between the 2012 & 2013 TCR Advanced 0 ?
Personally, i like the 2013 scheme better than the silver and teal of 2012 ....but im wondering if that where the differences end ?
cheers
Paul

i agree - id probably personally prefer the black one ....but the coin is WAY too much for colour .....
how much did u pay for yours ?? and more importantly, are you happy with her ?? How does she ride ? Hows the Di2 perform ?

I paid $2999 and got a free Green Edge kit with it. I am from Brisbane and they were not willing to drop the price (I did ask!)
I actually purchased a Fuji SST2.0 about 3 months ago, it was a good bike very stiff and looked nice. I had a lot of problems with the mechanical ultega on it! After 5 or 6 visits back to the shop I bought if from I gave up and they offered me my money back.
So I decided that I wanted either di2 or SRAM red. I couldn't really go past for the price the Giant. It has ended up working out really well for me as the ride is a lot smoother it seems to absorb the bumps much better. Also the standard wheels are pretty light and noticeably better than what I had on the Fuji. After only a couple of rides I took it on the Brisbane to Gold Coast (100Km) ride and it was awesome! Very comfy and the gears are silky smooth!
To sum it up, I don't think they are the best looking bike but for the specs they are awesome bang for your buck. I am very sold on the Di2 and don't think I could go back to mechanical!

think i might dig out the extra few bucks myself as I was eyeing off a TCR Advanced 2 2012 model ....which is mech Ultegra ....price difference is around an extra $500....
from your point of view ....the 500 clams is worth it for the Di2 upgrade ?
thanks again mate

Same with 2010 & 2011 models - same frameset but different colours.Alien27 wrote:From what I understand there is zero difference other than colour... and price

The 2013 Giants have a slightly different construction method, its a "modified" monocoque construction instead of a "full" monocoque construction. Basically its a multiple piece frame (and as far as I'm aware), its similar construction method to the Colnago CLX-1 and FACT-IS construction. In terms of production its slightly easier to make, I've never ridden a 2013 frame so I can't comment about if it effects the ridegrnis200 wrote:Same with 2010 & 2011 models - same frameset but different colours.Alien27 wrote:From what I understand there is zero difference other than colour... and price
