chain size question

Postby pembo6 » Sun Dec 09, 2012 11:09 pm

Hi all.
I. Am currently using a road double chainring at front and a 3/32" width fixed cog at the rear.

I am waiting for a 1/8" chain in the mail.
Will this thicker chain work ok on the 3/32" teeth?

I've never had any problems running a 1/8" chain on 3/32" rings/cogs on one of my bikes
Not even any noticable difference in noise...may see some extra wear on the components down the line however

Yes.

1/8th chains will work with 3/32 chain rings/sprockets. 3/32 chains will NOT work with 1/8th chain rings/sprockets.

For the same number of links and same material, is 3/32 lighter than 1/8?
