Just maybe there should be a “used by date” in relation to distance travelled on CF wheels, at which point they should be subject to being X rayed for fractures or other faults.

Wheel manufacturers would love that. Used by date = more sales

But given the severity of the consequences of a wheel falling apart, there is not much other choice but to have one methinks.

A couple of blokes in my old club had trouble fitting sub9 disc wheels in their tt frames. P3 and trinity I think they were.
