Can anyone please tell me what is the widest tyre one can fit onto a 2012 Specialised Roubaix?
Thanks in advance,
Pete
What's the widest tyre that will fit on a Roubaix?

Not sure, but here is one way to answer the question.
Borrow a front wheel with a 25 or 28 mm tyre and see if it has sufficient clearance.
Not all 25mm tyres are exactly the same dimensions.
On my Ritchie with Easton forks a Maxxis700x25 has sufficient clearance but a Specialized Armadillo700x25 does not !

That would be ideal but I don't have a Roubaix to try the wheel on. I like the spec's and geo of the Roubaix but will have to order one through my LBS and can't easily get to look at one. I'm riding a borrowed Secteur at the moment which has similar geo and it's nice, it has space for huge tires and comes with 28's so I'm wondering if I could put the same tires on on a Roubaix. I suspect it would have more room than a dedicated race bike as it's set up for endurance but not space for more than maybe a 28? The Roubaix comes with 25mm Specialized Espoir Elites as standard which should be good but I may want to try something different at a later stage. I'm pretty close to making my mind up as to which bike I buy but it would be nice to know this.elantra wrote:Not sure, but here is one way to answer the question.
