Better than my average!... but I have to do 25-30kms of flattish stuff before I get to the bumps .DaveOZ wrote:Maybe, if I could ride more. My average has just dropped below 1% but I'll fix that before the end of the year. Should hit 60,000 by the end of the year.
Let them watch ... I have already won the most km's without a helmet award .Chuck wrote:Careful mate the fun police are watchingtoolonglegs wrote:Who's keen?... I am hoping to clock over 100,000 meters by the end of the year.

If its the latter of course you need to take the yearly total with a ginormous grain of salt. So much so that I would not even bother personally.
But if you already have a yearly total and you are using the same device again, then its a fair and reasonably accurate comparison.
Good luck!!!

Talk about putting a dampener on any initial chance of being remotely competitive (groan).toolonglegs wrote:Who's keen?... I am hoping to clock over 100,000 meters by the end of the year.

I'll have to find a category cos cheating is not on, is it?

It was like that a year or so ago... but these days I find my phone gives me pretty much the same as the guys I ride with using a Garmin ( on some cyclosportives it has given me exactly what the organizer's have said there would be, where as the garmins were out.Baldy wrote:Garmin or smart phone meters?

Yeah, but like I said, I have to do 30kms pretty much flat each way to get to the start of the big hills proper... as much as I would love to do 100km rides every day I don't think I could handle it .Le Velo wrote:177,061 for me this year .... Unluckily to crack the 200,000 for this year but will make it a target for next year and see ....

It's only a bit of fun... personally I just want to double what I have done this year however I measure it, hopefully a couple of good 20-30,000 m months in summer will make it possible, cause after yesterdays effort I accept I won't get many meters up in Winter .

That's a lot of hills. Where do you live?jimboss wrote:I'm in. Got 40k up since getting a roadie in September. Between 2500-4500 every week... Two days is 2500 and if I get my early Sunday ride in its 4500 easy. Keen.

I'll probably be back to around 150,000 next year. I had a trip to France this year which helped with winter motivation and added a few more meters.

Mind you I won't put up much for Jan/Feb as I'll be in Paris/France for a few weeks.

Adelaide. I spend all my time on my road bike riding hills. The other 4 days a week I just commute.singlespeedscott wrote:That's a lot of hills. Where do you live?jimboss wrote:I'm in. Tuesday and Thursday I cover around 1300m (1000m morning, 300m lunch) and if I get my Sunday ride it is between 1500m and 2000m for that ride.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are between 80-100km in total. Sundays are 90-120km.
I enjoy riding hills and live close to them so 4500 is achievable for me
