2013 Santos Tour Down Under live on Nine
Adelaide will take centre stage in world cycling with the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under showcased on the Nine Network from January 20.
Calling all the action from Adelaide with the encyclopaedic knowledge that has made him a sports broadcasting legend is Phil Liggett, joined by his long-time commentator partner, Paul Sherwen.
Coverage of the opening round of the UCI WorldTour will commence with the People’s Choice Classic on Sunday, January 20, followed by Stages 1-6 of the Santos Tour Down Under from Tuesday, January 22.
As the world’s best road cyclists fight it out on the streets of Adelaide, cycling fans will see more action LIVE and in HD on GEM in 2013. The Nine Network, which is broadcasting the event for the second time, will present an additional ten hours of the Santos Tour Down Under LIVE, showcasing the thrilling final two and a half hours of each of the first four stages on GEM.
To cap off an intense week of cycling, the entire final two stages of the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under will be broadcast LIVE on Channel Nine at 11.30am AEDT Saturday and 1.30pm AEDT Sunday, January 26-27.
During Stages 1-4 the Santos Tour Down Under will also be covered in Nine News updates, and a daily one-hour highlights package will go to air at 11.00pm on Nine.
Wide World of Sports reporter Tim Gilbert will host the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under for the Nine Network.
Nine Network Head of Sport, Steve Crawley, said: “In 2013, the Nine Network will showcase an extra 10 hours of the Santos Tour Down Under live and in HD on GEM, giving Australia’s road cycling fans the best of the action as the intense battle for the finish heats up.”
The Wide World of Sports website will provide complementary coverage of the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under, featuring live streaming from each stage, video highlights, interviews and features, the latest news and results, expert opinion and photo galleries from the race.

Nice1 ,9/win , this will be the 1st time in 4 years (since moving bak to Vic)i will not have the tdu pass by my door step in the Adelaide hills (oakbank) where Phill and Paul would pull in, jump out of thier car and grab a pie from the cnr store . Lovely blokes those two.timbo wrote:A press release from the TDU regarding TV broadcasts.

Cheers,
Download the point to point map from the TdU website, head to any of the decent mapping sites, plop in the route, export the file as .gxp, and then upload to the Garmin.
Easy.
Or, do a Google search. That's how I've done it before.

My tickets are booked. Bike bag has been dragged out of the cupboard and we're getting closer to leaving.
I've got the course layouts. Looking forward to riding down to McLaren Vale on Saturday and watching the finish in the city on Sunday!

1. Any "must-do" ride suggestions (40-50km approx; based in CBD and will have the car if needed)?
2. Where can you get a decent coffee??
3. Is the beer any good??
Looking forward to it, have heard very good things about Adelaide at TDU time.

Great atmosphere ,not a lot of room left on this corner when the riders started to get serious.
