Bike buying headache

Bike buying headacheI have two bikes to choose from, one that I really want, nice color, great components, the type of bike I want, a Colnago CLX 2.0 with Athena/Chorus gruppo. The other is a great deal on a BMC TeamMachine SLR01 with Ultegra Di2 components. I know it is an aggressive race style bike, but the price for the components is unheard of.
Suggestions? "Try not. Do...or do not. There is no try." -Yoda-
Re: Bike buying headacheYou answered your own question. Buy the bike you 'want' not the bike that is a good deal. Otherwise we would all be riding Giants and Azzuri's!!
Re: Bike buying headache
also known as - buy the one that makes you want to ride more and more
Re: Bike buying headacheTake both of them for a test ride... Then you'll know for sure
Re: Bike buying headacheThere is a thread here posted by people who don't like their bike.
Cycle touring blog and tour journals: whispering wheels...
Re: Bike buying headacheI guess I wasn't clear. They are both Wants, I would love to have them both and I would love to ride more and more, with both. AND they are both good deals.
The thing I am struggling with is one is a great color scheme, and the other has the components that I think would be fantastic. Like I said, a headache, I think I am going to need to flip a coin, because I know I will love either one "Try not. Do...or do not. There is no try." -Yoda-
Re: Bike buying headacheBoth would be nice bikes, pick the one that looks the best
BMC are quite common where I live so I'd take the Colnago just to be different. Our Website is: http://www.pro-liteoz.com Find us on Facebook by searching for "Pro-Lite Australia"
Re: Bike buying headache
Again you've answered your own question.... Buy both
Re: Bike buying headache
But Cadel won on the BMC and not a Colnago, and to be different all you need is an iPhone (or any apple product) 2013 BNA Ultimate Survey - Now Closed - 775 participants - results out soon
Re: Bike buying headacheHugely subjective question.
I think the CLX frame shape is truly divine, most of the paint schemes used for CLX frames will not date with the passing of time. "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana" - Groucho Marx

Re: Bike buying headacheI do love that paint scheme. Absolutely gorgeous. Never had Campy, so it will be an experience. Oh, and whilst looking around, I also found a cyclocross bike I want, the Fuji Altamira CX 2.0. Crap, bikes are going to take over my house

Re: Bike buying headache
Do you want to love what it looks like or love how it feels when riding? +1 to test riding both to see which one actually feels like the nicer bike to ride. We can all give you our opinion on what WE like, but that means nothing if the bike doesnt feel right when YOU are riding it.....bargain price or not. Re: Bike buying headacheI definitely understand that. I wouldn't want to get a bike that doesn't feel right, no matter how it looks.

Re: Bike buying headacheDo not let it be a headache, if it is, you are doing it all wrong!

Re: Bike buying headacheThanks everyone, I think I found the one I want. I was reading some posts and found that cyclocross can make excellent commuters. I think I will go with the Fuji. But that Colnago will be perfect for a second bike.
