But I wasn't feeling so strong today - very tired.

Set out to have a quick run at a climb that's near my house, but I never really 'attack' because I'm preserving energy for tougher bits further on. PR-ed it, which is unsurprising considering I hadn't yet pushed hard on it. But satisfying nonetheless.
Also had a northerly which suited one of my favorite sprint sections - 500m flat then 300m kicker. Scored a PR which I was stoked on, KOM is in my sights. Which is really cool, because it's quite a competitive segment, and when I first started a few months the KOM time seemed unobtainable.
Tomorrow I am hoping to get 150km and over 3000m up. First time I'll be riding further than 110km-ish, so it will be an interesting test.

If it was a little bit cooler, I might have gone further.

Copped out as I was hunting for 150km and 3000m. I got about 100km/2100m in and threw the towel in (so to speak) and decided that my legs didn't want to climb anymore. The last 50km was pretty flats, some undulating stuff and a couple of minor climbs.
Got it done in 6:23 (6:50 inc breaks) and averaged 23.1kmph. If I stuck to the hills it probably would have taken an hour or two longer.

Edit: no further rides today - Mother Nature appears to be a bit cranky this afternoon! Storms and showers.
I'll have to do a 60km ride tomorrow.

Early morning surf today, and big lunch coming up. Intended riding but sore throat flared again yesterday.
Merry Christmas everyone.

I felt pretty good walking around the house beforehand, but riding back (with 6kg of stuff in my backpack) reminded me that I spent 6+ hours on the bike yesteday!

Then had a three+ hour sleep after lunch. Not sure what that was about... Candle burnt at both ends for too long?

I did the same on Sunday. No idea what happened.twizzle wrote:

Sometimes if I put a big early morning effort in (5am, 80-100km) I might take a nap.
But on Sunday I did a quick 25km ride at 8am, came home, milled about, then just carked it!

Cheers to Mario on the Bianchi and to guy from LACC who was riding along with me near Parramatta for the friendly company.
Thanks to the guy from LACC mentioning his long ride - that encouraged me to do the 100.

Did 45km and 916m up, including the 20% 500m climb that I've been doing lately. It felt really, really tough today - I was hurting - but it felt fast too. Strava confirmed my thoughts - matched my PR.
Pretty keen to see what time I do next Thursday when I'm not under a cloud of alcohol.

Oh well back on track tomorrow.
