Springs for Shimano Deore XT RD-M700 deer head?

Hi all,

I have a 1984 Cannondale SM-500, with original Deore XT RD-M700 "Deer Head" rear derailleur. It looks like it needs new springs. Does anyone have experience with these and/or can can tell if I can get equivalent springs from later derailleur models please?

I guess you can try your lbs and try and find a match but I would just keep running it as, even when sloppy these still work well.
Friction = smooth shifting once you get your cable tensions right (even after it has been flogged to near death).
Do you also have the Deore XT M700 thumbies? I would try a clean up of these then a light grease up. Maybe new inners and housings. Are you running it 5, 6 or 7 speed?
