Moving - Looking for Morning Cycle Routes

Postby fringe_dweller » Sat Dec 29, 2012 9:12 am

Hi guys,

I'm moving to Melbourne late January (King Street in the CBD), and I'm looking to find some good routes that will allow me to do 1-2 hours of a morning before work. Pretty comfortable on Sydney roads, but unsure of what to expect in Melbourne.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Grant

Down the east side of the bay to mordialloc and back via beach road is a nice run from king st or head west down docklands highway and loop around williamstown and Altona. Depends how far you go in 2 hours ... Both the above would be around 50 - 60 km.

Welcome to Melbourne ....

You should see some interesting sights on King Street a couple hours before traditional work(ers) start reclaiming that end of the CBD.

Good sound-insulation recommended :o

Cyclingtips has this bunch finder http://www.cyclingtips.com.au/bunch-rid ... idefinder/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

BNV has a sub section titled Plan a ride listing some early morning rides.

Many cycling shops have rides too. Just give them a call.

And Gatorskins.
And mudguards on Sat and Sun mornings, plenty of chunky and yellow puddles :roll:
