Sorry Zakka, I'm one of the viewers. It being the silly season, I'm not getting on the bike as much as I'd like early mornings.

Did the Kinglake run about a month ago from Research - make sure you avoid any rain as it's damn chilly up there if you're soaked. Descending back down wet roads while shivering made things pretty hairy.

I ride Kinglake regularly in all sorts of Weather. Check the BoM graphical forecast explorer (look at the data for Mt Dandenong), the rain radar and the Fernie Creek AWS to give you an idea of what to expect when you get to the top.

It can be sunny and cool in Eltham and 5-degrees, windy and drizzle at the top. Alternatively it can be under 10 and cold in Diamond Creek, but 14 degrees and warm in St Andrews. You can get funny inversions and local cold pools sometimes. When in doubt pack booties, long gloves and a rain jacket.

Are you still doing Kinglake rides? There are 3 of us heading off to Kinglake this Sunday leaving at 7 am from just north of the Western Ring Road overpass, on the bikepath. We aim to do the 90 km's in around 3hrs 15 minutes moving time, I've done it quicker but we have a slower rider we will be coaxing through with promised brief rest stops at St Andrews and Kinglake, maybe Whittlesea as well. You didn't say if you're road biking it, I assume you are. PM me if this is something you'd be interested in tagging along on, if you find us too slow then feel free to take off.
