Sounds about right, looking at the graph the minimum was when I was in shade for a few minutes changing a tube at about 5:45ameldavo wrote: The BOM temps are shaded weather station temps, so if you're in full sun, I'm picturing Wiggles on bikes top to toe skivvies and non vented skate helmets singing 'hot potato hot potato'

I just swapped the rear wheel for another with big granny gears, so hopefully I'll be able to make it up J'dale hill. (My regular cassette is a 7-speed corn cob which goes with hills like hot english mustard and chocolate.)
I usually ride my hybrid down to Jarrahdale with loaded panniers, so this'll be the first time on my road bike. Half the weight should be good, but nowhere to stash 10L of water, nine Mars Bars, fifteen spare tubes and a solar-powered bike pump.

so hot, especially the bits when I was heading NNE into the foul NNE wind.
didn't enjoy the flat tyre that ended my ride either, looking forward to 2013 now.

Started at 9:40AM, finished at 7:00PM - had an extended stop in Pinjarra to fill up bottles and hydration kit with ice. I carried 6 litres of water on the bike, 4 bidons and a 3L hydration bladder. Kept the liquid cool pretty much all day. I used NUUNS tabs to avoid cramps and arm & leg protectors to avoid the UV.

Particularly all the slippery, bloody leaves on the oily, wet, bricks where I tried to stop yesterday.Kaffine wrote:Personally I blame OP for this

Yesterday afternoon though...heart rate at 190 and big effort to go over narrows at an earth shatteringly fast 25km/h.

And at 12:30 I had to sprint from East Perth to Ardross for a 2:00pm dental appointment. Another ninety minutes and his time at max speed. Dunno what the temp was but it had to have been higher than the forecast 34.
Then 90 minutes in the dentist chair.
And then twenty minutes in the heat again to get home. Temperature has gone up further.
I am now looking forward to pizza and a number of beers to go with it. I figure I have already worked them off.
And going back in time - On Friday the house air-con finally fixed after three weeks. I am still waiting for a part for my car air conditioning that packed up on the trip to Dongara on Christmas eve.
Bring back winter. Please.

Yeah, I think this morning was the most uncomfortable I've been since I started commuting daily a few years ago. 30C, 60%+ humidity, NE headwind. I just stopped sweating a few minutes ago, and I took a cold shower when I got in at 8.damonik wrote:Was 30ºC when I left this morning for work. Awesome riding conditions. Swam all the way to work.
I'd prefer the 42C I had riding home on New Years Eve over this kind of weather.

Of course that breeze from that direction probably means that there is not much to look forward to for the ride home.

Got to up to Canning DAM with a PR which was nice, but I was dehydrated much earlier than anticipated which didn't leave me much after I got there!
