Ortlieb repairs

Postby onrbikes » Mon Dec 31, 2012 10:05 pm

I have a few small holes in my Ortlieb panniers and am having a tough time finding a repair kit.
The holes are in both the PVC and the black material.

Surely there are some Vinyl repair kits just as good?

Wiggle doesn't sell any Ortlieb stuff and getting it in Oz is becoming an issue.

Seamgrip should do the trick. I've used it to repair a 4cm cut in an Ortlieb drybag. Use it very carefully though - nasty toxic stuff before it cures.

Actually Wiggle does sell Ortlieb still but like a few of their products just not to AU anymore. I just checked by changing my 'country' setting to UK on their website. So you shop elsewhere ... here's one http://www.roseversand.com/article/ortlieb-repair-set/aid:380021. Ortlieb calls it an 'emergency repair kit' or 'fabric repair'.

Interesting how the "free" world market/economy is still protecting local distributors.

Basic capitalism? Consumers want a level playing field of competitors, companies want a monopoly.

Viva la revolution, etc!
