Off and running. Climbed Brooklyn at about 10:45, which was stinking hot. Then got a flat from no apparent cause (so I'm off the mark in that comp too!). I think the road may have just been too hot and the pressure I was running was too high (though only 110psi) and the tube just failed on a seam. I also didn't have my toolkit with me as I'd just come back from hols and had forgotten to put it back on the bike.

Huge thanks to the guy who came past and lent me a tube until I could give him a new one back when I got home!

Big night last night, we got home from the City at 3am this morning and I woke up at 6am. Washed both bikes and went out in the heat for a short ride to start the year.

Started the year off with a quiet 28km; been itching to get on the bike for a few days but the back has been playing up since Christmas. :( :(

Quiet on the roads today and everyone giving lots of room when passing. :D

Like the look of the new sigs, includes a climbing goal which is a bit of fun. I've kept the distance target the same (6000km) but hope to knock it over a bit sooner this year. In 2012, I managed 50,000m climbing - so thought I might add a bit for a target of 60,000km in 2013. Not much good on hills (the bike/rider combination is too heavy (not the bike) and wrecks my power:weight ratio :) ) but I really wouldn't mind getting better on hills. I'v signed up for the 7 Peaks passport but only hope to take on one or two of the peaks (NOT Baw Baw!). The Climbing Cyclist website has a lot more interesting climbs for those in Vic.

Safe riding in 2013, and hope you achieve your goals.

cheers

Sig updated, now to get out on the bike this arvo for a roll! Back to work on Monday, so I will try and get a few rides in before then. Nothing like doing the 500km Strava thing tho, lots of planning around that with Christmas and family (kids, wife, etc).

Good work all!!

Help please, have tried to reset data from 5000 to 6000 and I get the error message "grails runtime exception" ,I don't know what I'm doing incorrectly. The red pointer on the bar graph has reset and the rest you can see on my signature

Back at work today so started experimenting with getting up earlier to hit the streets before 5am. Reckon I'll be needing a nap by about 2.30

Copy your info from cycling thingy with out the img at each end then go into the signiture section of BNA, click the img button in the edit section, put your curser inbetween the two img and click paste.

Yup, I'm feeling guilty too, will need to invest in better lights if this carries on!

first ride for the year today, 30.5km. will not be a huge first week of the year, as I'm away for the coming weekend visiting relo's, and can't take a bike!
But will hopefuly get a couple of decent training rides in before Audax Alpine Classic in a few weeks.

Finally managed to put some runs on the board for the start of the year. Some very windy rolling hills.
