Still poking around the recumbents for sale adds with the possibility of grabbing a "immediate" bike before I can afford/negotiate the purchase of a Sinner Mango. Anyway a Optima Orca has popped up on Gumtree and there are couple of Optima Lynxx available as well. One is on Gumtree (probably same seller as for the Orca) and one is at OzHPV.
What little I have found about these has been pretty mixed so curious if anyone has experience with either. There seems to be some question about the amount of recline of the Orca and its height with 26" wheels.
Thanks
Andrew

Would it be worth a "quick" trip to Canberra to find out for yourself?Baalzamon wrote:Flying Furniture has got an Optima Lynx selling used for $1700
You don't need the best kit, you just need the best attitude.

Well an Optima Orca (typo'd as Orcha) is for sale down Bunbury, just popped up in Gumtree. Bit closer to home for you
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/eaton/bi ... 1013498488
And if you wait a bit there'll be a Logo Trikes recumbent tandem trike coming up, approx $4500. Unusual for tandems this is set up with a freewheel for the stoker, captain and stoker aren't locked into the same cadence and the captain probably needs as additional mirror on the front to see if the stoker has nodded off or stopped pedalling to read a book. Also has S and S couplings to split the frame in two for travel or storage, it is a fairly long beast otherwise.

Looks nice but not sure that the price is appealing ...just4tehhalibut wrote:Well an Optima Orca (typo'd as Orcha) is for sale down Bunbury, just popped up in Gumtree. Bit closer to home for you

Well a brand new Optima Oryx which is based off the Orca is $2840 from FFC....
That is well overpriced imo, should be around $1250-1500 I reckon based on 5 years old and it has been made obsolete by the Oryx as well.

I bought the optima lynxx mentioned on the ozhpv site. After a few weeks riding I'm starting to feel at home on it. My first recumbent so it does take a bit of learning ( my partner thinks its a great joke as she is a long time recumbent rider ). Now I wonder why it took me so long to get on one. Ian

There's an Optima advertised on BNA now, for $1550. So I guess you're right. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=61399Baalzamon wrote:Well a brand new Optima Oryx which is based off the Orca is $2840 from FFC....
