I suspect they've been quietly training under the strava radar so as to smash us on Mangrove Mtn and all the other climbs.TimW wrote:The "Big dude" is being conspicuous by his abscence as well"leximack wrote:yes. i noticed that also. Some of the highlights for me were...
- The ride out to Wisemans was awesome. Nice and scenic, not much traffic and cool air.
- The climbs were challenging, but not ridiculous. Spiz and Don would disappear into the distance and wait patiently at the top.
- There were some cool descents, eg Mt White etc.
- Had some good, much needed stops at Wisemans, Mangrove Mtn, Brooklyn.
- Riding along the rivers was really nice
- I've never ridden up that way before so it was good to explore
- Good company for the ride
- Only one puncture for the day and no mechanical issues
There were really only a couple of negatives...
- Me slipping on the stairs like an IDIOT at the Wisemans Ferry cafe nearly ending my day there and giving me back pain for the rest of the ride.
- The heat made the larger climbs v. hard work
Oh, and some of the details that Tim shared about his digestive system

I think we got really lucky with the wind, i dont recall really having a headwind at any point in the ride , and the section from mangrove mountain to brooklyn (about 40km) just seemed to fly by, awesome fun . We had a good day, we didnt break the bikes and we didnt crash and we made it back home safely, thats a good day in my books
Pretty happy with the average too for the conditions
Good sharing of the pace making also, no wheel suckers on this ride
