Just seen a promo for GTV9's news that showed a broken up Pinarello and smashed Zipps.
Nothing on google news - Anyone know anything?
I hate hearing about cyclists getting hit....

Just heard that it was a 52 male "run over" near Oliver's Hill in Frankston South.

Bloody equestrians....can't they just stay in the pool and off the road (ooh, sorry that would be an aquastrian...LOL).bardygrub wrote:car with horsefloat
Jokes aside, I hope the rider is OK.

News said he had life-threatening injuries. Sounded very nasty.

Damn, hope not.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

News of this was filtering around out on Beach rd/Nepean hwy, Would of been about 10 am when I heard. No idea of how it happened but there is a lot of shop rides and bunch rides on a Saturday morning and wouldn't be surprised at all to hear the cyclist was at fault. Some people do some pretty careless things when riding in a bunch along there.

Unfortunately, there was another rider down in the Sandringham area this morning also with Ambos in attendance - looked like it may have been bike vs bike - though not 100% certain.

Slightly off-topic but as someone who has pulled a horsefloat on multiple occasions (as well as being a cyclist) if a float was loaded with horses they do not stop quickly and are very difficult to manoeuvre or dodge unexpected objects. They are marginally easier to stop sans horses (obviously because you don't have an extra approx. 500-1000kgs of horse/s moving around in there and don't have to worry about injuring the horse). When I see a car towing a float whilst driving I always give them plenty of room and don't begrudge them when they are doing 10km or more below the speed limit.
I hope both the cyclist, the float driver and the horses are all okay (if there were horses in there).
