Why would that be? I understand there may at times be a lead time getting a replacement spoke, but if your LBS mech holds the appropriate stock for quick replacement, what would be the problem with specific proprietary spokes?

The company can charge whatever they want for them, they know you have to buy it.

I'll never buy proprietary wheels again, $20 for an xtr spoke is a joke.

I think you answered your own question - time. I have been looking around for a set of spare spokes for the Shimamo c24 and I found one place in Europe. I am beginning to rethink my choice of wheels.

At under $400 for wheels that are rated up to 109kg that look as hot as they do... Can't go wrong.
The max weight is 109 but it says you have to inspect them more often if your over 83kg. Not sur if that's standard or not.

The Bracciano's are better in everyway and you can get current model stock with full warranty and local support for less than NOS Ksyrium's.

2x Choices if I were you.

Prolite Bracciano - $412
Campag Zonda - $392

I'd personally go Campag as I am yet to read a single bad review, though I'd be happy to change my opinion if Jack were to lend me a test pair for a week

I'm thinking of getting these:

http://beta.bikesoul.com/s2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

About $510 delivered, 1295g, wide rimmed.

Got a quick response from Sean via email when I had an enquiry. Showed the website to a workmate - he ordered a set yesterday.

Pleanty of guys in Brisbane on Bracciano's who I'm sure would be only too happy to help you out with a test ride. If you pop a post on here, one of the team riders I'm sure will take you out and swap wheels with you for the ride:

Alternately, buy a set - if you don't think they are a better thing that you've already got, return them and I'll give you your money back.

I wouldn't - do a search and you'll find very mixed reviews on their products and service.

Pretty poor form here especially from a supposedly reputable supplier.

"supposedly reputable" I'm not sure what I'm to take from that. Do you have a problem? If so, feel free to PM or even better phone me so we can take care of that.

Wouldn't be too hard. Mavic wheels are so overated.
