So I got up this morning and decided to fix my creaky headset once and for all. Went for a test ride and all seemed perfect for the first 8km... Then the darn thing started creaking again, just a little but by the time I got the other side of town is was getting pretty bad, so I headed up the hill got a KOM (must have been a bit angry!) and some how managed to do 27km which is exactly what I need to do every day to get 10k for the year.....
Not a bad start 1 KOM and 0km behind

*I'll strip down the fork/headset and start a thread in the shed soon, I think there is a part missing

Well you've had a good start anywayLukeyboy wrote:I'm not sure I'd make the 10k club but considering I put in 2615km in the last two months (1600 of which was in December) anything might be possible

Not sure I want to get into Strava though - I like Cyclemeter for the long monotonous kms where there is no traffic - it gives me feedback every km on my average speed and elapsed time... can Strava do that?
I'll go for 14,000 kms of road kms and double the amount of climbing - 75,000 m. Now to figure out my signature thingy again!

What's doing?Wal42 wrote:I'm in again, this years goal is 15001kms, I'm taking 2 weeks of in Feb & I'm NOT riding a bike at all, no pushbike of any description, if you see me on a golf course or wetting a line somewhere between Brisbane & Sydney during that fortnight, pretend that I'm not a bicycle rider, because during that 2 weeks I'm NOT.
Are u on Strava?

Yeah I am on strava, I'm a bugger for not logging my rides, I download onto my computer (into a program a friend wrote), then upload it to Runkeeper, then manually load the distance, averages, etc onto bike journal, sometimes I remember to enter it onto strava.

Did very nearly 8k this year and ramping things up. No, not going racing (why does everyone keep asking me that) just like to ride!

On Sunday morning we decided to take our old 85kg CRT TV to the tip. As we were lifting it to put it in the car I felt my back go and have been in pain and off the bike ever since. I think I won't be able to ride till at least Friday

Get well soon, I personally know how bad a back can be, unfortunately (or fortunately considering I'm still walking I guess) have broken my back twice, live with some level of back pain, but since late last year it has been worse, fortunately I have a good masseur, so with some extra exercise & some anti inflammatory's it's very manageable at present.
Take it easy, go see someone (a GP, physio or massage therapist), look after it & get well soon.
Best wishes.
