And here's me thinking that the GST was a tax on the consumer.
Well well well, yer live and learn etc...
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

The bike shops I have visited who do coffee have a dedicated barista and sometime seperate cafe and bike shop part. I can't think of any off the top that have the sales or mechanic staff preparing coffee as a standard service. The coffee is one thing, others do work supporting local races and getting involved in events or running training rides or a combination. Bikes and Mowers is not a popular combination these days though you may spot the odd Bikes and Fishing shop around.
For bike shops the key in this day and age is you can't just sit there and expect it to work out from alone, it is not even about only stocking certain brands - customer services is becoming increasingly important and running a future compatible business.
I understand the GST and level playing field argument and some businesses feel that this is the complete answer whereas the reality for consumers and business is that this is just one of many factors influencing price and as a simply survey we did on BNA has shown wont affect purchasing patterns.
