1962 Tour de FranceIt would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.
Re: 1962 Tour de Francethanks for posting those hamster, a few things stood out for me, no helmets on the cyclists or motor
bike riders/ passengers. the riders stopping to "liberate" some goodies. the mention of doping. the lovely bikes the always fascinating scenery and locals the weird collection of vehicles thanks again I couldn't get the brakes on my bike to work so I got a really loud horn, crisis over!
Re: 1962 Tour de FranceThanks for posting.
Vid 1, What a blast, all those beautiful steelys. Vid 2 amphetamines on a hot day How about the Ambulance sporting advertising?
Re: 1962 Tour de FranceThanks for posting that, hamster. Beautiful steelies indeed. Favourite bit had to be the 'drinks raid'.
My eye was caught by Cancellara's Descent in the thumbnails at the end, for anyone into watching descents. A contemporary vid though. I swear I was leaning in the chair as he took the bends. Ever noticed how quiet steel bikes are?
Re: 1962 Tour de FranceDo you think the 'doped rider comes to a standstill and falls off bike' stuff is real, or staged?
Also in the sidebar, 1977 Alpe d'Huez stage. Heartbreak for Van Impe! Worth watching if you like seeing exhausted Belgians slapping massive gears up the Alpe. And check out how wide the finishing strait is. Death before Di2!
Re: 1962 Tour de Francenice find, hamster.
