Re: Painting plastic? Specifically Garmin Edge 800get a silicon case
It hides the blue.
Re: Painting plastic? Specifically Garmin Edge 800Those bits might be rubber, or synthetic rubber - at least on the 500 the equivalent bits are.
Re: Painting plastic? Specifically Garmin Edge 800I'd reckon they'd use it to void any warranty you have
Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.
Re: Painting plastic? Specifically Garmin Edge 800
Already have that - decided I prefer the streamlined look.
Re: Painting plastic? Specifically Garmin Edge 800
Would nail polish work?
I'm not concerned with warranty It's strange that the Edge 500 comes in what? 3 colours (blue, red, silver?). And they are re-using the same Edge 800 casing for the upcoming Edge 810 but it only has 1 colour.
Re: Painting plastic? Specifically Garmin Edge 800If it's silicone eslastomer I can't help.
If it's a plastic like ABS, I suggest the spray paints Tamiya makes for polycarbonate model cars as probably your best shot. They're easy to apply, stick like the proverbial and seem to be very resistant to grease etc (they're made to survive being doused in fuel periodically). I've used them to repaint a couple of carbon forks to hide the carbon, the first one's survived 3 years. The code numbers are PS-2 for Red and PS-34 for bright red, the colours are very true to the lid. They will run you about $12 a can from any decent model shop.
