Judging by the bike frame (TT & DT clean snapped in half) it must have been some impact. Had her in a neck brace as I went past and seemed to be 'with it,' so hopefully ok.

Was this incident on the road, or on the bike path?

saw an ambo at the same spot sometime last year. poorly designed corner. add in a bit of speed and you have a need for an ambo occasionally

sad news. took note this morning and remembered to trail brake to keep pace down.
i've never had issues before, but i can see how a noob might come down a bit quick and skitter out on the bumps maybe.
more exciting was the off-leash dog at 6:35am on that stretch from GBB to toowong - talk about havoc. poor owner must have thought it was a good idea at the time. dog restrained, disaster averted.

It's a corner where a few in my group think they can shave a few secs off their PB.
Maybe I should make it a Strava segment "Nutcase's Corner"

The word at the track last Saturday was that there was a malfunction of some type with the front wheel causing the rider to go over the bars and the bike to snap clean in two.
It was a fairly new high end bike btw.
Although I do agree about slowing down taking that corner...went that way this week and took it nice and easy.
Hope the rider is recovering ok.
