box section rims for 1983 Gazelle

Hi,

I have decided to make my 1983 Gazelle a bit more 'period correct' At the moment it is built up with '90 Campagnolo Chorus gruppo. As I was looking around the wonderful web I found out that the Shimano groupset I bought a while ago was from the same era (1982). So I am looking at fitting it to the Gazelle. The only thing I am missing is some rims. All I seem to be able to get are the open pro's in silver, but I really want some box section rims to make it look right. The only rim that comes close is the velo-orange PBP 700C rim. Any suggestions? Any other idea's or suggestions on the build?

Try h+son tb14 rims, gear Brisbane stock them and they come in hard ano or polished.

I sometimes buy rims on eBay from France as they are usually well priced and shipping is cheap. A set of Mavic 700c period rims should be relatively easy to get.

Ambrosio Formula F20 (light rim) or Nemesis (heavier, stronger rim). They look like they did in the 90s.

For period correct box section rims look for Mavic MA40, or MA50 CRD very rare if you can find 'em
