I hope nobody is riding home this afternoon. It'll be very hot.

Riding home, but it beats the alternative of staying at work :D

44.9 deg C earlier at Observatory Hill. Hate to think of the temp further west, north and south. Start your home ride prep now, start drinking!

Well, yeah, of course. But... it's 45.2°C! Far out...

I'm really hoping it'll cool off by the time I'm home around 4:30pm. I don't commute by bike, but I do like to ride every afternoon for a couple of hours.

Southerly cool change will come around 8pm, with a storm. Not sure you'd want to be out then.

45.5 was the max at Kingsford Smith earlier this afternoon.
Luckily (kind-of) I'm at work until 6pm, so hopefully it will have cooled down by then.

Added to the heat is a 14-30km/h headwind for my ride home.

Noice.

Maybe the train will be a better option.

Kev.

The storm is here early, but just misses my suburb. All that red/black patches on the weather radar, it'd be a nice cooling drench if you are under its path.

The change hasn't hit us up here in Newie yet. I've been putting it off, but I can't wait any longer at work before heading home - still 40+ out.
But the fluid reserves are good and I will just potter along. At least a westerly is a tailwind on the way home.

Just rode home in 44 degree heat for 22kms. Do not ride in this heat if you've got any distance to cover, I tried to HTFU but I think I missed the H T and only managed to get the F U part.

Temp topped out at 46.4 degrees for me at North Ryde, then cooled off to 42.5 degrees :-)
I had two frozen solid bottles of water when I started at Nth Sydney. Both were melted by the time I reached Lane Cove a whole 10min later!
Pool at home was an icy cold 31 degrees :-)

Rode Sunday. Rained the whole time but it was great to ride when no one is on the cycleways. It should rain more often! :D

Thread title is on weather _this morning_! ;)
Seriously though, the rain and wind has died down very quickly, actually rideable now.
