Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
Start of lots of adds by the look of things so far. Cheers Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 2
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingtuned in. coverage is great.
event looks great, well done adelaide!
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingThe floods are about to kill the coverage in the next 7 minutes for us queenslanders.
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingI'm happy with todays coverage so far. The adds are no different to any other sports event that I watch.

Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingI didn't want to see the finish of the race. My day is complete having to listen to Campbell Newman cover his arse.....
Good on you channel nine.! Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 2
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingChannel 9 fools. Could have recorded the flood brief from the idiot premier and replayed after the cycling. The most important stage. Can't believe it.
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingWhat a bunch of wonderful people.....
Not other channel thought Newman was important enough to interrupt there programing especially the last minutes of a live event. Would they of done that during the last over of a cricket match? Well done to Gerrans. Great ride. Cheers Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 2
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingBad move from nine. But they're not the only villains here. That Newman creature is only there because Queenslanders voted for him.
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
Highly doubt that it wouldn't have happened during a crucial point in a cricket match...or football game! We switched to the live streaming but it wasn't quite the same. Lisa
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
What has that got to do with nines programing decisions? Just a typical nine.... Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 2
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingStill doing a good job considering the mess that Anna Bligh left this state in.
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
Mmmm. I'm guessing the cutlery at your place has corks on the sharp bits.
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingA good strong finish by Gerrans
They could also recorded the time when Newman was talking also and played it after the interruption. Foo I don't suffer fools easily and so long as you have done your best, you should have no regrets.

Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingGood coverage until the end, after Gerrans won and we should have been seeing what was happening further back, they seemed to completely forget this in the programming as they didn't show anything at all from other riders. I started talking to the TV, show me what's happening.
Otherwise the coverage was quite good with a fair idea of distances to the end and between the peloton and breakaway groups. BNA Feature: E-Bike Buyers Guide App on Now iTunes
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingI would say they don't have the resources to cover multiple points at once.
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
No, but I think you wear a hat with corks though..... Cheers Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 2
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingThere was neither interruption nor ads in the live stream from the web site.

Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
Yes, this is exactly the point I made after stage 2. There was no mention that many of the riders who would have been expected to contest the finish had been caught up in a crash so the viewer was left wondering what had happened to them. Cycle touring blog and tour journals: whispering wheels...
Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cycling
+ 1 Good points made. Too many ads but hey it's commercial TV. Liggett and Sherwin really ground the coverage, to me they are uber familiar and make it ever so easy for me to tune in. "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana" - Groucho Marx

Re: Is Channel 9 trying to kill cyclingA shame that this thread is being polluted by off topic, not permitted by forum rules politics and mild personal abuse.
Save it for the Gooier Males comments page. ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.
