Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonHi,
Depends what you mean by similar? I run Durano plus on one bike - they are very robust, and roll and corner much better than Marathon plus ; never had a puncture with either tyre (lots of pinch flats with the Durano's though - operator error The Marathon Plus last a looooong time - I reckon 10k+ km on average v's 3k for the Durano..... Hope that helps? hers "A dessert without cheese is like a beautiful woman with only one eye."

Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonThanks,
In detailed response, I am looking for a tyre that is similar in size, so they fit on my bike with the same fork and frame, but I want something with treads. "Try not. Do...or do not. There is no try." -Yoda-
Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonWhy do you feel you need tread?

Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonDon't feel that I need it, but there are several flat, dirt trails in my area, that as I am riding around, I want to ride on them and the tread will help

Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonWheel Energy have tested to show that tread has merit on the road.

Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonApparently available in a 700x28... Vittoria Randonneur. Might fit if you're lucky - otherwise flog 'em along.

All manner of half finished projects and a bit of randonneuring I used to be tech-savvy. Now I'm just tech-weary.
Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe Marathon
randonneur does not last as long as the schwalbe. had both.
Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonI don't think any other tyres last as long as the Marathons. But that wasn't the OP's question. Kym

Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe Marathon
Not my experience. 14000+kms from 1.75 Randonneur Cross They laugh at bindiis and glass. Try the Vittoria Randonneur Cross, available in 28mm. Treaded tyres are sub-optimal for road riding however. Be aware of this when making your choice, and I personally think in a tyre as narrow as 23mm the traction loss from tread could become a nasty handicap. Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.
Re: Tyre similar to Schwalbe MarathonI knew you'd pop up waving the Randonneur flag, Pete
