Professional Mechanics Course

Postby rdwaltonut » Tue Jan 29, 2013 10:19 am

I'm trying to get certified to become a bicycle repair mechanic. But I'm not sure where to get certified. Has anyone heard of any courses locally?

Well, here in Queensland such certificate courses are run by TAFE, probably the same in your location.

Current qualification course is AUR30212 - Certificate III in bicycle workshop operations. More details can be found here. As for local availability you may have to browse some of the local TAFE websites.

I think the course is only offered in NSW at Taree TAFE.

Hmm, that must be why none (or very, very few) of the bike mechanics in LBS's round here seem to have done the course then.
