You need to edit your signature here to include the link pointing to the Satmonkey grapic.JohnJoyner wrote:As I am extremely technologically challenged... Do you know why my mileage bar is still on the old one? I registered as per your email above yesterday, but it has not changed. I clearly have to do something else, but have no idea what it is.

I've got a question. Who is Philip and how do we get in touch with him to get him to roll the BJ counters over to 2013?Livetoride wrote: If you want the progress bar in your signature please click here to set it up http://whatsbeef.net/philip/bike/adduser.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Thanks to Philip for doing this. Any questions about the bar should be posted in this thread.

Not sure what's happening with BJ, best thing to do is assuming you have set up your BJ account, click this link below and follow the instructions (there's only a few to follow) and once you confirm then, your sig will be up to date. I just did and it was uploaded straight away.
Any problems, let me know mate.

Just joined and thought I'd try and join but the stat monkey thingy is giving me errors (trying to link to strava). Giving me a runtime exception.
No idea what I'll hit this year as I am up and down with big km's (250-300 some weeks), 50 others. Reckon I'm good for 10k though.

Sound like you have it pointing to Strava and not BikeJournal. There is a box in settings where you need to select one or the other.lordbiggington wrote:Howdy,

Using BJ and Stats Monkey (link above) works fine. I use both Strava and BJ, for different reasons.Dr_Mutley wrote:is there a better (non-strava) way? thanks mate.... is their an easy way u can just upload your garmin to, or do u have to just manually enter your odometer figure for the year periodically into BJ?darkelf921 wrote:Using BJ and Stats Monkey (link above) works fine. i would consider going to the strava dark side if its a matter of just uploading your garmin to it...

Manually is the only option I am aware of with BJ. Strava and Garmin Connect both allow you to simply upload data direct from your Garmin.Dr_Mutley wrote: thanks mate.... is their an easy way u can just upload your garmin to, or do u have to just manually enter your odometer figure for the year periodically into BJ?

In Strava, you can keep all of your rides private, so only you can see them. Or you can keep your place of residence and work private so there is a 500m - 1km radius around it where others cannot see your travels. Distance varies and can only be adjusted by contacting Strava support. They are helpful with this as I had to do it.
I use BJ as I have done for almost two years now. I use GC as it is great for setting myself goals and I can easily share rides with others on FaceBook, etc if I want to (for charity rides and the like). Strava, I use for keeping records of Personal Best times, etc. Strava now keeps record of bike components a lot better. In the past BJ was the best at this but Strava have now done it better. So I can easily see how many kms I have on my chain, tyres, cassette, etc. It's a good maintenance tool making BJ slowly become obsolete. Which is really unfortunate as I really like BJ.
I could pay for Strava and be able to set goals but GC does it for free.
I hope that info helps?
