Heard from my LBS today that the local Velocity facility at Brendale has gone out of business. A wholesaler is taking over the distribution apparently, so presumably Velocity wheels will come in pre-built now, rather than being laced up and finished locally.. Sorry, I don't have a source to quote, other than "he said" etc.
I've not been out there, but my back wheel is with them being rebuilt. Not sure if/when I'll see it again.

They now get made in the USA don't they?
Pretty weird, I live 5km away from where they use to be made (Brendale) it was cheaper for me to buy the wheels from the US and get them shipped back to me. Then they whine the internet is killing local bikes shops. Ridiculous.

yeah, the main production facility is in Florida now. There has been some local wheelbuilding done at Brendale though, up til this week at least.

Bicycle Parts Wholesale purchased the rights to be the Australian distributor off Velocity worldwide.
They still will be handbuilt in Brisbane to order.

I knew about BPW buying the rights. Didn't know they were going to continue local assembly. Thanks for the heads up.OMR327 wrote:Bicycle Parts Wholesale purchased the rights to be the Australian distributor off Velocity worldwide.

Now, if only they would give me back my wheel!

Your local bike shop should have your wheel...?

my LBS are dealing with them. They've been having trouble getting a response and/or ETA out of the new people though.
