Magnificent bike dubrat, is that a 55 x 57 size frame?
Big changes coming to this... Including the period group and some period Ti bits

It's 56 x 56

The frame is Columbus SLX with a mix of Campagnolo and Shimano equipment dating from early 70's to early 90's.
Cheers

"just built" no doubt means many hours in the shed with the torch and file building the frame.
Looks very nice.
Who did the paint?

cycles gitane (who values the work of a craftsman ie cotterpin :D )
There is NO room in the shed for the next bike! New shed rqd.

Nice stem (I've always liked them), they can fetch a fair price these days. It looks like that's coming together nicely.

Lark2004 wrote:My ride...... No idea what brand it was. I got it for $8.00 at the Dakabin trash and treasure market, had to get new tyres and brake pads. I also put new cables on it, and modified the frame to bring it down to my height and repainted it.
I have also now turned the handle bars around and cut them down to make bull horn bars out of them. I never ride on the drops anyway, and this made it so much more comfortable.
My apologies for such a late post; I've only just signed up. However, the chrome forks on this bike are Pinarello, even if the frame looks like a GT. Hope this helps.

Gawd, I just found that post, geez I was racing some long hair dude name Jesus in A grade when that was posted, we both used to ride Velociraptor Specials in the Summer Philistine's series around Jerusalem's streets.

Seriously, it may not be a GT, Repco did the same interrupted seatstay at one stage.

Since it's a Brissie bike, it may be a SorenSon; there's a photo in the SorenSon Bikes thread, almost the last post, of a large bike with a similar frame layout. However, that is definitely a Pinarello fork crown.

My Ricardo.

Before:

After:

Not a lot done still very original.

General clean-up, new "Gun Metal Grey" paint, new cables, new Gumwalls, new chain, new bar tape and a Fizik saddle (why not).
All up I'm happy with the end result, it's a really smooth and responsive for it's age (1984 I think).
Still not sure about the mudguards, feels more....masculine with them off. ??

Very drastic protection indeed :D, just needs some goggles

It's a matter of three bolts for each guard so I might chuck them on for a look, they also need a polish, or I just don't ride this in the wet.

Are you sure they're not your sheets, Dan? I always envisaged you as the purple-velvet-sheet type. Regardless, that Colnago is a beaut!
