Well it is finished and in it's packing crate, that's the good news.....

The bad news is that I leave for Queensland today so wont be here to arrange pick up...........so Harma has agreed to hold onto it. It will arrive in Perth on Monday the 4th Feb.

The waiting is nearly over

No not yet, just have to sit and wait for a phone call to say it has arrived and then I can go pick it up!

it wil probably arrive 2300 tonight so that I wont be able to pick it up until tomorrow

Bad news there was a delay with with the shipping company and it probably wont arrive until Friday at the earliest

Yes one yesterday evening to tell me that it should arrive at Perth airport at around 1500 hrs today, but will take 6 hrs to unload and so will not be available until Monday as Custom agents don't work weekends!

No sleepless nights but frustrated days as I am on leave at the moment until Sunday, so I could be out testing and setting it up. Instead I will have to wait still, and the Mango will be sat at home pilotless while I am at work

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your customs agents will take a few days to sort things too. Its more than just "sign here and collect it".

I've read some changing the battery to 12V as well from the 6V.

Alarm systems, horns, lights maybe. I was curious because of the possibility of using a remote alarm system.

You can get some portable cheap 9v powered alarms which have motion sensors and a remote key fob alarming thingy.......

I will do but for the price of the velomobile I wasn't keen on trusting it to a cheap eBay special alarm system ... the better ones seem to be a touch more expensive. Will investigate down the track in more depth but.

I would be more inclined to get a gps spy tracker installed somewhere so it can be traced at all times.

That could be handy as well, but the remote proximity alarm is about discouraging people sitting on it

Uses GPS and falls back to GSM networks if no GPS available Telstra prepaid sim long life would be what I would use.

Or you could use kogan mobile ( http://www.kogan.com/au/mobile/ ) at $10 per month for 6gb of data.

Uses Telstra older 3g network so should have good area of coverage.
