The Zeus seat post on Luis is obviously worn out from years of use (& probably neglect going by the condition I received the frame), so the first time the road bent up the seat pivoted up at the nose, around the same time Wazza realised his bars were a little loose, a quick stop just before the Uni was required, seatpost bolt done up to the max (I've changed out the seatpost as it's seen better days & is really too worn for my riding style), Wazza's bars tensioned we headed off again.
Just before Indooroopilly, Dan had his rear wheel lock up (top excuse Dan, but I was still blowing you guys off in the sprint), it looked like the cassette lock ring had come loose & the cassette had moved on the hub causing the hub to bind up on the wheel. No roadside fix for this one, Elantra, Vaeske & Red Rover headed back to Browning St to get a vehicle to save Dan (we need a RBQ started), whilst Wazza, Pentlandexile & myself carried on around the loop, PE must have needed a toilet or was on an early pass because he left Waz & I in his dust, Waz & I (the original mechanic perpetrators) finished the loop on our pats (pat malone, rhyming slang), got back to Browning St ready for the post ride coffee, only to find the others were not yet back. We took a vote & felt we wouldn't find them on the road & the coffee would get cold if we even tried, so Waz & I headed over to our usual post ride coffee shop, enough time to down an iced tea when Dan & Vaeske lobbed, as we'd already ordered we felt they could look after themselves (well, they'd done ok to this point).
Video's are currently uploading to youtube, I'll link them when they're finished.

That's it until next Sat, Luis now has a different seatpost & saddle, pulled the headset down & the bearings are shot, will attempt to get a new headset in before next Raturday or I ride one of the others, the tyres are slower than a wet week, so I'll be chasing some thin 27" rag wall tyres (hopefully they'll spin a little quicker than the Conti Ultra Sports) & I've fitted another washer into the friction shifters (blinking thing changes from 1st to 3rd every time you climb), there is plan afoot to also have a bit of a ride on Sunday's, both Waz & Dan will be riding a multi-day charity event in a few months & want to get a few kms into their legs, I'll may go along to lend some encouragement.
See everybody out there at Browning St West End at 6am next Raturday (if I'm back from hunting).

I will be bringing a box of goodies along for you all to rifle through and have what you want - too low in value/difficult to list in my eBay store, too valuable to just throw away. I am hoping this stuff is of use to someone.
A few sets of bars, seatpoles, saddle bags, tyres ..... will post a photo later.
Anyone got a 26.6mm MTB seat pole they want to sell/swap?

See you on Raterday. Here's what remains of a box of stuff looking for a good home (Free stuff, free stuff). The big cross over a few is because I have found a home for the item already.
Clockwise from top:
Alloy 25.4mm 42cm wide handlebars - no markings, lots of tape residue
FSA XC281 MTB riser handlebar - wide - 31.9mm clamp - scratched
Velocity saddle setback/forward clamp
Pair cheap alloy pedals and toe clips - would clean up fine once the rusty reflector brackets are taken off
Set of useable Time (first generation) cleats
Scott Aero bars
Vitus seat pole - measures 23mm dia
Some Gel Womens saddle
MTB stems (for 25.4mm clamp) - 120mm UNo & 100m Azonic ORC
If you want 'em - come and collect them (I won't be holding on to them for anyone - just handing this stuff out on Raterday).
Otherwise, check my ebay store to see if there's anything I have you want me to bring up (I'll always do the retro crew a deal), or let me know if you are looking for anything specific (my retro stocks are mainly 90s Campag and Suntour, + large frames/forks).
Dan, got a rim, a saddle to recover, and a 980 FD for you to check out. Am I missing anything?
Vaeske, got a pair of track hubs for you. What are you planning on giving me?
Wal, keen to check out that 26.6mm pole you have ...... hmmm that sounded funny.

Hey, be polite about my very thin Polish friend, Igor.
Not sure but those bars you have look like a TdF (or similar) bend, I may want them off you if they are.
Big issue with Luis, steering head bearings are RS, waiting for replacements to arrive, so I may ride the Nutri-Grain special on Raturday.
Also, going to sell the Superlite (as a bare frame) that I got from munga a short while ago, I keep getting new projects & that always seems to be getting moved back down the list to be built, so obviously I'm probably never going to get around to building it, can't remember what I paid for it (I have a figure I'll accept in my head, it's probably less than what I paid for it), also with Luis being here, I'm thinking that the Repco Vantage touring bike could go as well, got Shim SIS indexed D/T shifting, Shim brakes, Araya wheels, nice soft double bar tape, it's a dual rear lugged tourer so it's lugged for mudguards & rear rack, has new cartridge bb, Maxi's Detonator tyres, ready to ride, probably take around $150 for it.

Velo13, no need to bring dérailleurs, pretty sure I'll list the rest of the 8spd gear I have instead of piecing together another group... But rim and saddle, most definitely.

If nobody puts their hand up then I'll be leaving 6am sharp in the morning, if no one else is there, that is, I won't be waiting for maybe's.
OK you lot, hands up or make sure you are there before 6am.
