Road would be fine, I took my commuter bike these past two days and will again tomorrow, an alloy framed bike...given my Fondy a rest! Just mind the mud if you use the section from QUT to Milton!

Thanks for the heads up MM... I decided to give the mud a miss as I was super keen to get back on the road bike... I did two laps out to luggage point and one up to nudgee beach... Got that 600 mile badge within reach now...

Hey Jason, I noticed that you did Coottha today, any reason why you didn't go around the full circuit?? Is the road closed or do you just prefer to do repeats? I rode to the track at Nundah this afternoon...glad that I had my study commuter and 25mm tyres...had to get off the bike three times, twice for a tree over the path and the other for a foot bridge that is covered in rubbish. Then I had some fun through the mud on the path under Sandgate Rd overpass....I was fish tailing at one point and thought that I was going to come off. It will take a fair bit to clean up, every foot bridge has had the side railings pushed over, the force of the water is amazing! Take care out in the KBB.

Should add in the little sprint up Clear Mountain to see what's left in the legs on that 20 degree climb marinmomma wrote:Lukeyboy wrote:Should have ducked to the inside of the Sandgate Road underpass where the rocks were

Haha, indeed. I went through the mud just after the pathway was first reopened on the roadie and then spent 10-15 minutes just clearing the brakes a couple hundred metres up the path. It got to the point where I considered dipping it in Kedron Brook because none of the taps worked

Yeah, I had to do the same yesterday. I like doing laps around Coottha, there is a couple of pinches on the way round to try and smash out, and I love the front descent...not that keen on the back descent, and I do well on descents generally...have have one QOM up there!!!

The January weather has been really bad here by the looks of it. I just got back from 9 days in NZ so i missed some of it. I got up to go for a ride this morning and as if on cue it started to rain. I don't mind riding in light rain but i dont like cleaning mud off my bike so i think i will walk the dog instead. Anyhow here are some images of the weather South island NZ las weekend. ( Queenstown/Lake Wakatipu areas)
Recent Favorite rides: December -TUMBULGUM to TOMEWIN by some obscure route-can't wait to do it again !!!

Did anyone else get dumped on this morning, or did that little black rain cloud just follow me from bowen hills to gardens point?
I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.

I got wet on the way home as I left coffee (AT) Southbank around 7, wouldn't call it getting dumped on but.

was closer to 8 for me - wet through three layers - perhaps not dumped on, but more than a shower

That's the problem with you long haired Uni bludging types, always smoking that weed stuff, there ought to be a law against that type of anti-social behavior. This sort of thing didn't happen when I was young, we had more respect.......blah.........blah.............blah................blah.................blah..................blah
