Can someone(s) experienced please give me an answer on this question. The best reference I found so far was this thread. The Rohloff manual references two different spokes lacings for the European spoke hole pattern and the French spoke hole pattern. As I have no idea what either of these things are, I was hoping those of you who have built the rohloff onto the rohloff specific Rigida Andra 30 rims would be able to tell me which lacing you used.

Did you get Roger Musson's guide? It's discussed in there. To be honest I can't remember what I used. I think the drillings on the Andra are not offset.
Regardless the lacing pattern is the same, it's just a matter of which hole you start in. Check the holes either side of the valve hole. If there is any offset, then the spoke must run to the same side hub flange as the hole is offset. Then you need to decide which way the rim will rotate, so you know if it's a leading or trailing spoke.
Also, there's a note in the manual about not crossing the spokes over the screws. But this only applies to 20" wheels from memory, for larger diameter rims cross them over the screws.

Thanks guys.
Actually on page 55 of the rohloff manual there is a good picture showing the two spoke hole patterns. It looks like the Andra 30 has the French spoke hole pattern. When I look at the valve hole from above (rim on knees, valve hole furthest away), the spoke hole away from my body is to the left of the valve hole.

I don't have the guide. I am getting a bike shop to build the wheel for me, but just wanted to make sure I get the lacing correct in my head.

Now you are on the right track...take a copy of the manual with you to the wheelbuilder.

Blah, apparently neither of those drillings are right, this is the reply I got from sjs: "They are drilled for the way we build them, see this image for the lacing pattern: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/26-(559 )-rear-wheel-32h-rigida-andra-30-black-rim-with-retrofit-rohloff-speedhub-500-14-cc-14-speed-gear-hub-silver-prod26330/"

It seems that Thorn use the French spoke hole pattern rohloff build, but flip the orientation of the spoke heads around: spoke heads which rohloff spec as facing outwards face inwards on the sjs picture, and vice versa for rohloff specced inward facing spokes.

Which chapter of the Rohloff downloadable manual deals with the actual building of the wheel (lacing etc)?
