Michelin Pro Race Tyre Wear

Postby roadfreak » Fri Jun 20, 2008 2:20 am

Hi all,

Just picked up my first road bike over the weekend and have been on a couple of rides already and am loving it :D

My bike has Michelin Pro Race tyres and I've looked on the net and they don't seem to have wear indicators.
In this case, how do you tell when you need to change them over?

Cheers.

I was thinking the same thing. I have the light grey ones, so when that part wears off, or gets close to, its time for Pro 3's

If you can see the threads, or if they are significantly squared off in places, or cut up, then it's time to replace them.

Almost certainly they'll be cut to shreds long before reaching the point of 'worn out', IME.

Bet me to it, especially if you live in Sydney.

The "black" Pro Race 3's are on special at PBK for something like $34 until Monday.
I order a pair yesterday, along with some other goodies.

I once ordered on Friday and received my package on Tuesday, so that was 4 days.

I've ony got about ~500km on mine (25c). I've had a few flats, but some were from shoddy patching
