At a loose end in Adelaide
Postby gorilla monsoon » Tue Feb 19, 2013 9:32 pm
I'm in the City of Churches on business and have a break in proceedings tomorrow afternoon(February 20) and thought someone might be able to tell me if there are any bike shops in the CBD that are worth a look.
I'm staying at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Hindmarsh Square if that helps.
Cheers.

Rundle Street has a few worth sticking your nose in Euride / Mega Bike (very flashy and yuppie) has a good range of European bikes , Super Elliotts (right across the road) is old school has some of Cadels old bikes in it. A good range but packed in nice and tight!! ( every chance I get I do a quick walk through for fun).
Bicycle Express 124 Halifax St is a good open modern shop with Trek Colnago Cannondale and more.
My 2c worth

Thanks for the information. Looks like the loose end just tightened up.

Also, the Fringe is on. The hotel will have a guide. That will give you something to do once the bike shops close.

A nice thought but I have a product presentation at 5.30pm that will run through to the dreaded corporate dinner that finishes about 10pm, two hours of catch-up work before bed then a 6am start tomorrow.gdt wrote:Also, the Fringe is on. A brand new Giant shop opened recently in Hindmarsh Square, you been in there? It's on the west side.

Found Euride and the new Giant shop. Staff at both very helpful (the young guy at Euride especially) and visiting them was a good way to get my fix, not to mention a great way to kill an hour.
Once again, thank you all for your help.
BTW, does Adelaide have an overabundance of hot-looking women or have I been away from home for too long?

It was a peaceful demonstration, MichaelB. and the world might be a better, safer place. Might be. Just a little.
