Big ring, small sprocket. Rear cage vertical.
Right crank at 3 o'clock.
Sticker free wheels rotated to conceal the valve stems.
Oh yeah, Is that a cadence magnet I see hanging off the LH crankarm? Pretty sure most sensors are designed to run above the stay too.

Try again mate, your new scoot looks too hot to not be photographed to best advantage.

All I did was strip everything from my old Reid Falco to this frame (DengFu FM098).
It runs a full Shimano 105 groupset.

Wow! Looks great! Always read of people suggesting to do this to bikes with great group sets that are sold with not so great frames. Did you do it all yourself? If so, congrats!

I think anyone can do it. I did it (see photo of my FM066 recently posted up above), and everything I know about bike construction I learned from the internet and from trial and error while doing it. Apart from cutting the steerer on the fork (which was terrifying, but not very difficult), it was all pretty straight forward. By spending a bit (A LOT) of time and care on the gear setup, it is shifting MUCH better than the original bike ever did, without any change to the drivetrain, except cables.

It won't be my last self-build, and I will probably keep an eye out for cheap bikes on run-out with good groupsets. For example, when I bought by Malvern Star Oppy A5, I paid $999 for a bike with a complete 105 groupset, wheels and tyres. I have upgraded most of the rest over time, I can see good reason to buy one specifically to swap out the frame and keep everything else unchanged.

I thought cages and bottles were the one area of bike that WERE a world standard???

Nope, you'd have to be a weight lifter to remove the camalbaks from the cages if you were to push it all the way in.

Some quality bikes in this thread. I got a tad bored the other night so I went down the road to get some tail lights wizzing past my bike. Only problem was that unknown to me there was a crash futher along the road which traffic wasn't able to access so it took what seemed like forever for a single car to come past.

Nice effort!!! I keep looking at that bus stop seat though!! Suffering from laundry basket syndrome.....

My Lemond 2001 Buenos Aires that i bought new in that year. It's been around the block many, many times and is used to commute 5 days a week and then on the cycle paths around Guildford West and the M7 on the weekend. As comfy as an old jumper and from the days before Trek fell out with both Lemond and Rolf.

Each sunday it has a bit of a clean and check up which was needed after the last filthy week. Yellow shows the grime.

The Rolf wheels stopped creaking after the first 6 months and have been silent ever since. My word they made a noise when new though.

Awesome bike Hergest. I've got a feeling the Lemond bikes will become classics in the way that, say, Trek USPS bikes might not.

Plus yellow is my favourite bike colour. Hard to find at present.

My farm bike .





Early 90s Graecross Legacy, used it for a while in a desperate attempt to cultivate some bike handling skills, now that i only ride on the road it's just used for getting about the paddocks, hence the ghetto singlespeed (the derailleur kept getting jammed with grass). Couldn't help but get a little bit fancy with it, the front wheel is a nice Deore DX hub with a Mavic rim .
