Not sure if I have posted to the right place, but if you missed the Audax Alpine Classic last month there is good news. There is another ride up that way in a couple of weeks.
It’s the "Granya Grind" ride, part of the Lake Hume Cycle Challenge.
Its not real mountain stuff but at 135 km with rolling hills and the Mt Granya 7km grind its still pretty good riding.
If thats not too you're liking there are 100km and 40km options as well.
It has been written up a few times on the web. There are rider logs about, as well as the course description and profiles including other local attractions.

Not to mention pretty reasonable restaurants and Clubs in Albury Wodonga with renown wineries and breweries just a ½ hours drive away.

Interest in the event has been good and online registration are mounting.
The stars are lining up as weather on the North East Border has been pretty mild on looks like continuing similar past Sat 23rd cycle weekend.
Weather forecasts; mild, low humidity and virtually no wind, at BOM or http://www.weatherzone.com.au/vic/north-east/hume-weir" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Women's National Road team at the Granya Grind!!
Yep. Just read in today's Albury local paper... "Womens' national cycling will be the highlight at this Saturday's Lake Hume Challenge with the Bicycle Superstore Women's National Road team in town... entering the Graya Grind . "Those taking.. that route..will be able to ride along with the national team and get advise on various aspects of the sport."
"Anyone interested in meeting the team can simply participate in the event". Afterwards.. "There will be plenty of people to talk to for those who want to go up that extra level into the national team". They will also be at the local store late in the afternoon.

Great cycling in the Upper Murray, Feb 22, 2014.
The Lake Hume Cycle Challenge offers three fantastic road rides (134 km Granya Grind, 100 km Tallangatta Tour and 40 km Weir Wall Waddle) through the picturesque rolling hills and valleys around Lake Hume, Albury-Wodonga. 2 rides crossing the Hume Dam wall.
Encouraging various types of cycles, recumbents, single speeds, oldies. Its a challenge!
Also 5 km Family ride/walk in town along the Murray River now being offered for partners and family orphaned by the big rides. Full info at http://www.lakehumecyclechallenge.com.au/ prizes and chat at see https://www.facebook.com/lakehumecycle/info
Funds go to the Regional Cancer Wellness Centre.

1 week to go.
All the stars seem to be lining up for the event day to be great riding and socialising. Registrations are running at a record high with good interest in each of the 3 road roads and the short family ride/walk. And weather forecast is great ........ "Sunny, 12 to 29'C, light breeze, chance of rain.. 0%"
