Tyres For Commuter
Postby Kieran263 » Fri Feb 22, 2013 10:26 pm
The uni year starts in a couple of weeks for me and I need a new set of tyres.
My bike(Reid Condor, I know I know, it does the job) It has the cheapest of cheap
25c tyres on it at the moment. I'd like to go for a wider tyre and the frame has enough
space to accommodate a 32c but I have no idea what brands are reputable, I don't
want to start a brand war, I just need an idea of where to start.
Cheers
Kieran

Are punctures a regular issue?Kieran263 wrote:Hey guys,

Do you run mudguards or are you considering running them in the future?

I'm not planning on running mudguards at all to be honest.

I wouldn't discount mudguards, they are very effective.

If you are trying to save money online is a lot cheaper. Those Michelins look cheap and if good would represent great value. You would be able to get 28s on your rims I reckon, my tyres are 28mm wide and it is a nice size.

+1 to marathon plus. there are quite a few of us on here that use them for commuting. Am up to 6000kms on mine.

In that case I suggest you have a look at the regular Marathons. The pluses are more money which is probably pointless for you.Nobody wrote:Are punctures a regular issue?Kieran263 wrote:Hey guys,

No punctures so far, definitely more grip in the rain. Cheap too at $35 per tyre.
