My Thorn Nomad has long stays - 47cm. But the seat tube is still the normal sort of ~72 degree angle. It's a great bike to ride over rough stuff.

Like a drop bar recumbent ?
The Thorn is well within spec il padrone, and 'looks' so much righter than that unfortunate Eddy bike

I mean any road bike with a sloping top tube is ugly. They look like girls bikes.

If the designer was really worried about aero, they wouldn't have disc brakes and tucked the rear wheel behind the seatpost more as per modern aero bikes.
Also no amount of aero is worth sliding down the road on your face because your unsupported frame suddenly let go.

I can see why this didn't work well. There is still a supporting triangle made by the stays and the seat tube. I can't see how it would give much flex. Also as said previously, you'd have to have your saddle a long way forward to get the standard pedaling position.singlespeedscott wrote:Steve Bauer's Eddy Merckx from the 93 Paris-Roubaix.
