Yep they're already a nice shade of cream with grey brake gunge highlights. Loving the change from Conti GP4000s though. The new Vredestein Fortezza Tricomps are very confidence boosting & just feel so much faster & way firmer/grippier cornering. Reportedly the new tyres only have half the km's in them compared to the Cont's.......meh I'll take the grip & speed for the loss of durability. Gas propulsion.......it's natural don't fight it.
Re: Bike Gallery
Can you post an ebay link where you got them?
Re: Bike Gallery
Actually the downhill there isn't as good as it looks. The road up ahead doesn't connect up to the downhill, and the descent I'm on there does a shape left turn and then turns into the South Eastern Freeway (no bikes allowed). There is a dedicated bikeway though. The fun part (descent of Mt Osmond) is mostly behind me at this point).
Re: Bike Gallery
The RS80 C50s are good. The seem fast, and the braking is great. Kinda heavy though (1875g according to http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... t-11-44503 ). I've noticed sidewinds a little bit, but nothing too serious. There are good deals on them atm, too. I got them from CyclingExpress for ~$730 (through they seem sold out now).

Re: Bike Gallery
slam that stem. carbon cages. paul canti's or die. other than that it looks like a cool bike. yeah i'm taking the mickey. there seems to be almost no recognition of any other bike except the pro looking deep section carbon variety, where money talks and everything else gets ignored. 0day bikes with top-shelf components are definitely worthy of display, but i think the little guys need more exposure and positive comment too, guys. show more sub-$1k bikes! internet experts: ruining bikes since '10 | http://www.redbubble.com/people/munga
Re: Bike Gallery
I got the very same one's for the very same price and they are really good. I have ridden in some pretty strong side winds and they are very stable. Although not a climbing wheel I recently did a reasonable ride with around 2km climb overall , they are nice and stiff . Great descending at speed Rides : Merida Reacto 907E & Larry_the_SS

Re: Bike Gallery
Merlincycles UK could help. ~ $750 shipped for a set if my memory serves me correct. I have used them previously and they take about a week, decent service from the UK. http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/wheels/road-wheels/factory-road-wheels/shimano-rs80-c50-wheelset-clincher.html

Re: Bike GalleryMy steel beastie - which is a Columbus SLX framed 1987 Paconi, resurrected with some gradually added modern componentry over the past 2 years, and finally brought into the 21st century with a set of ultegra brifters last week. If i'd only realised how much more fun the bike is with indexed gears it would have been done when i first bought the bike. A very nice bike that makes me want to jump on to go for a spin every day...
