Another one is biting the dust. Yep Assos after all these years, got a card in the mail. Go check their website for details.

Not quite - if you read the front page of BNA you'll see a new distributor has been appointed.

Went in a few weeks ago when they first announced they were closing and found it remarkable the closing down special prices were no different to the regular special prices they send out all the time.

Just got the card as well and can now understand the confusion. It is specifically worded to naturally assume assos will no longer be available which may well be intentional.

They are promoting a closing down sale on assos.com.au noting that they have winter and autumn cycling wear - until March 31. 2013
I also didn't spot remarkable discounts but they may still come.

I note that some of their "special" prices are closely matched to UK mail order price. They are not stupid are they? As Chris suggested, let's see if heavier discounts are available closer to their deadline. At the same time, typically those specials are of odd sizes and odd colours.

They didnt have 1 pair of medium gloves in the whole store a few weeks ago, yet the rack was full of all different colours. Its more like an advertise and get rid of the junk and old stock type sale while the stuff that will sell is going somewhere else.

Irrespective of the outgoing distributor's business philosophy and practice, I do like Assos products. The bibs are just excellent for my rear end.

Well I bought the Mille bibs today from the store. Prices were cheaper than Wiggle. ($175 vs $191.26)

Saw the new Assos distibutors' van at Southbank the other weekend...speculating that they are going to open a store near 2XU perhaps?

Echelon have a room set up in their warehouse, that's it. It's very impressive though. Say good bye to any chance of getting decent Assos prices in Au as well. In fact, apparently Assos will be cracking down on online prices worldwide, We shall see if that is true.

Good thing there are so many decent, well priced alternatives now...
